The measuring principle
1, the magnetic method
When the probe is in contact with the cladding, the probe and the magnetic metal substrates constituting a closed magnetic circuit, due to the presence of a non-magnetic coating, so that magnetic resistance is changed, by measuring the amount of change can be measured obtaining coating thickness.
2, the eddy current method
Generating a magnetic field using a high frequency alternating current in the coil, when the probe is in contact with the metal, will produce eddy current on the metal substrate, and the probe has a feedback by the feedback effect of the size of its coating thickness can be measured.
